Making Your Application for Finance and Completing Credit Check

All applicants for car leasing will need to pass a credit check. The application form is the standard form our financial partners use to decide your eligibility for a financial agreement. Decisions on suitability for personal credit are made by the Lender, not Land Rover on Lease.

The information provided is used in connection to your application in the following ways:

The information you provide to us is passed on to our financial partners. They will also receive information about you from their own enquiries and searches at various credit reference and fraud prevention agencies. This method is applicable to all applicants, including directors and partners of a limited company, partnerships or incorporated associations who submit an application to lease a Land Rover for their business.

Your details will be checked by our financial partner with both credit reference and fraud prevention organisations and these organisations will keep a record of this check. Our financial partner will supply these organisations with your current and previous names, addresses and dates of birth of all concerned parties. If you are submitting information about others in a joint application, you must ensure you have their explicit agreement to do so. The credit reference and fraud protection organisations will supply our financial partner with public information about you and any third party who is linked to you financially. This public information will include details such as bankruptcies, county court judgements (CCJs), fraud prevention information and electoral role details, current and previous names, dates of birth, and addresses for you and your financial associates. If falsified or incorrect information is submitted and fraud is detected, details will be passed on to fraud prevention agencies and law enforcement bodies may have access to and use this information.

Finance agreements should not be committed to unless you are confident that you are able to meet the payments for the entire duration of the agreement.

Once the appropriate application form has been completed, you will need to ensure that you read and agree to the Customer Declaration and Data Protection Act notices before submitting your application. Incomplete answers and information will delay the processing of your application.
